Biography
I am Zuohan Wu (吴左晗), a PhD student in the Thrust of Data Science and Analytics at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), where I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Lei Chen and Prof. Yongqi Zhang at the Big Data Institute.
I received my B.Eng. degree in Artificial Intelligence from Sun Yat-sen University in 2024 (GPA: 3.9/4.0, Rank: 7/71, Top 10%). My undergraduate thesis was awarded University-level Excellent Thesis under the supervision of Prof. Libin Zheng.
Research Interests
My research focuses on developing intelligent systems that automate complex and labor-intensive tasks in data engineering and analytics, making data-driven insights more accessible and actionable. My current research interests include:
- Large Language Models (LLMs) for data engineering and analytics
- Data Mining and knowledge discovery
- Deep Learning applications in real-world data systems
- Reinforcement Learning for dynamic optimization problems

- [Oct 2025] Our paper on zero-shot log anomaly detection has been accepted by ICDE 2026!
- [Jun 2025] Our paper on reinforcement learning-based pricing strategy has been published in IEEE TKDE!
- [Sep 2024] Started my PhD journey at HKUST(GZ).
- [Apr 2023] Presented our work on hub-oriented mobility services at ICDE 2023 in Anaheim, California.
